of topic: How did it take for your septum piercing to heal? Do u have any videos about that type of piercing. I want to get it, but didnt kno if it would look right on a AA girl, ive seen a few girls with it and it look good.
@takbir55
You can use a blowdryer if you work out. Eventually your pattern will get a lil looser and it wont revert so drastically much after you workout.
hi…i was wondering at what point or hair length did you start heat training? right now i just have a short afro so i dont know if its better to wait to start training when its longer or now
Since you work out alot I wouldn’t blow dry for the sole purpose of having the blowdried hair look (and managability depending on your hair) BUT if you feel that your hair type is so coily or wavy that
you’re seeking long term results of a looser pattern and not short term results of having the blowdried look, then and only then would I use a blowdryer if I were you.
take care
i have been doing this since novemeber and my hair has been so much easier to manage! I’ve been natural for most of my life and its when i started to use heat properly(not to high, and not too often) my hair became much easier to manage without sacrificing health, especially as it gets longer. im glad you are letting people know that this is just another option for ones with afro textured hair. i really wish i knew this when i was younger. it would have saved alot of pain and embarrasment.
I experienced this when I was relaxed. It sounds like you’re being too rough with your hair in that area, using too much heat in the area or not moisturizing your hair enough in that area causing the hair to snap or break. I know of many women of color who have coarser in the middle of their heads and I am one of them.
Even though the hair maybe be rougher, you have to be MORE gentle. Take the time to slowly detangle it, moisturize it and lay low on frying the hair.
Hi! I’m natural my hair is slightly above bra strap length flatironed. I transitioned for 1.5 years and just cut off the last of the relaxed ends. My problem is that on the crown of my head I have a lot of short hairs. Did you or experience this and if so what did you do, if not what do you think and can do to fix it. Thanks
Thank you for this video. My hair tangles and pops, when I was natural much earlier in life, I blow dried my hair and didn’t experience the tangling and breakage.
Thx for the inspiration! tmarie I go through the same thing and I fing that the put I get most frustrated with which is my crown has the most knots and tangles!! Uhh!
Hey chica how drastically does it change the hair? I dont know if i would consider blow drying your hair every couple months “heat TRAINING”. Just the wear and tear from some moderate heat styling over the years…
Oh my goodness it is so funny that you say that about getting frustrated and pretty much ripping your hair out because i am going through that stage where i get tried and my arm hurts and it takes forever for the knots to untangle that i just start really ripping out my hair because im not use to my hair but in order for it to grow i know i have to be gentle. so its nice to hear you say that but its funny because i can feel what youre saying hehehe. its a relief to hear how you dealt with it
Another way for people to fix the tangled ends problem without using as much heat is rollersetting. They can rollerset when it’s wet and then blowdry a little when they take it down if needed.
Thank you for answering because I pratically got kicked off the Nappturality site for asking this question. Apparently I’m not nappy enough for them, smh….but now I know what I need to do. Thanks a bunch!

@HairLikeMyDaddy
I blew my hair since I started growing it out. My mom did it when I was a kid too.

some people mistake “heat training” for “heat damage” which can be the result of too much of the former.. thanks for this video.
